The drying unit PAIP® S-01 is an equipment specialized in drying olive pomace produced by two and three phases processing system.
The drying process can be defined as a unitary operation in which a solid liquid separation is carried out, providing heat and thus evaporating the liquid.
In a rotary direct heat dryer (tromel), a continuous supply of wet material is dried by contact with hot air during transport over a cylinder.
The tromel works as a transport device and as an agitator.
Once the product enters the tromel at one end, it is subjected to medium and / or high temperatures by gases from the furnace / combustion chamber. The applied temperatures are carefully studied in order to obtain the desired final product moisture and not affect the quality of the oil to be obtained in the subsequent extraction. Inside the tromel there are “flights/lifters”Attached to the inner wall, as well as suitable cross supports to favor the movement of the product inside the tromel and, consequently, favor its drying. The arrangement of this internal structure is one of the causes of the high energy efficiency of the S01 dryer from PAIP.
The dry product leaves at the end of the tromel and is sent to a smoke box. The smoke box acts as a gas / solid separator, a solid collection chamber and a sedimentation chamber. Much of the moisture in the solid is evaporated and transported by drying gases to a set of cyclones that separate existing solid particles of smaller diameter. The solid product that falls through the smoke box, as well as the particles trapped by the cyclones, will be sent to the rest of the dry product.
